The Layana Resort and Spa is nestled on Koh Lanta Yai Island in Mu Koh Lanta National Park. The park is a marine archipelago, home to verdant tropical rainforests and undersea kingdoms of colourful coral rich in natural marine diversity.

The resort enjoys a spectacular beachfront location on a 3-kilometer long white sand beach, situated about 2 hours south of Krabi International Airport.

Environmentally-conscious design throughout the property results in a simple and elegant Thai atmosphere; alfresco architecture combining with contemporary design to provide an open, cool and natural feel.

Accommodation

The resort features 50 luxurious guestrooms and suites comprising 44 Garden Pavilion rooms, 3 Beach Suites and 3 Ocean Deluxe Suites. All are designed in contemporary Thai style, complete with large balconies, while decor and furnishings are both natural and luxurious, making extensive use of hardwoods, silks and other indigenous materials.

All rooms have either king-size double beds or separate twin beds with goose-down duvets, as well as a large daybed serving both as a daytime sitting area and as a third bed at night if needed. Bathrooms are fitted with bathtubs and separate showers, while the suites are additionally provided with open-air garden showers.

Garden Pavilion

Garden Pavilion rooms, offering 49 square metres of living space, are located in 11 separate two-storey units, each with four guestrooms, nestled within landscaped gardens, commanding garden and mountain views.

Beach Suite

Beach Suites, with 59 square metres, are single-storeyed units perched on the edge of the beach overlooking the sea.

Ocean Deluxe Suite

The Ocean Deluxe Suites, set back from the beach, cover 88 square metres laid out over two storeys, with an open upstairs sala (living area) commanding 270-degree views. Compete with desk, daybed and minibar upstairs, in good weather it’s possible to sleep “under the stars” with only a net to protect against unwelcome mosquitoes.

Facilities

Library: Located adjacent to the spa, the Library provides a quiet, reflective corner open to the gardens with books, magazines, newspapers, games and a number of DVD’s for loan. For those traveling light, there are also two computer terminals permanently connected to the internet for use by guests. Tea, coffee and juices may be ordered.

Fitness room: In the 9m x 6m fitness room, a number of weight and fitness training aids are available. These include dumbbells, barbells, a Smith press, a seated row/lift machine, hyperextension trainer and a pull-up/leg raise frame. There are also polymeric balls, Bosu balance trainers, and yoga mats. Please note, there are no treadmills or stationary bicycles (but the beach and mountain bicycles are always available).

Restaurant

Tides Restaurant

A formal restaurant perched on the very edge of the beach overlooking the sea and open to the cooling sea breezes. Guests have the choice of a cool interior venue or an al fresco beachside setting on the deck in front of the restaurant. Serving a mouth-watering a la carte selection of international dishes, as well as traditional Thai fare and seafood specialties all made from the freshest of ingredients. The menu quality is matched by a wine list of varying prices.

Sundowners Restaurant

Facing the beach, this is the perfect location for refreshing fruitshakes, cool drinks and evening cocktails. Make new friends and enjoy memorable sunsets and special prices at the Sunset Hour from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

Capacity: 18 sets at the bar, and 20 seats on the deck around the bar
